RETROACTIVE RETIREMENT: A DEFINITION OF BAIN PAIN

What the expression retroactive retirement means is that Romney, by trying to retain power in his company, ended up trapping himself in a lie. Here is my reasoning. He took what amounted to a leave of absence from Bain. That means the partners had to operate in a way that would please him, the company owner, because he was going to come back. After three years, after an appropriate period morning McCain’s defeat, he decided to leave the company to run for the elective office McCain could not get so soon after the Bush Republican failed debacle. Therefore, he did not want all the Bain Pain, economic skullduggery, to fall on his shoulders so he resigned “retroactively”.

The Trap: He was in charge and the company operated according to his wishes for those three years: making money while being unpatriotic. Isn’t there an adage about having your cake and eating it too!
