UNDERSTANDING TOM PERKINS

Although most attention was given to #Tom Perkins awkward reference to kristallnacht, it was his statement during an interview about that misused reference when he said the 1% were “the jobs creators”; the illogic nature of that statement caught my attention. In his wall Street Journal letter, he was complaining about “his” 1% being mistreated.  Tom Perkins, as a very rich venture capitalist, belongs to the 1%; however, he has a shameful and illogical understanding of history if he sees a parallel between being criticized because of his economics and the persecution of #Jews in #Nazi Germany. He, like #Mitt Romney and a number of others in their position, have no sense of the real world and the refuse to learn—they have everything they need thus be motivated to learn. He clearly demonstrated this as he continued in his interview to say that the 1% were the job creators.

The 1% problem is an outgrowth of #Reaganomics, the economic policy that has undermined the economic fabric of this country. Everyone knows that and he is living proof. He and people like that what to have the working class look up to them as hard working, successful, heroes or something. Apparently, what frustrates him is that we have no deference for him and his type and look at them for what he is, an avaricious little man, who only knows how to take. If you don’t believe that then ask him about what he thinks about paying even the least amount of taxes. He has it all and wants more but also is disappointed that we don’t bow down to him as a job creator.

Think about that. He readily admits the 1% exists and their fortunes are growing larger and larger every minute. If the 1% were really job creators, we would have more jobs then we could possible fill. We would be clamoring for more immigrants. We would be raising the minimum wage to keep the workers happy to keep them in their jobs. We would be lowering college tuitions to provide more highly educated workers. None of this is happening; Tom Perkins is a narrow-minded greedy little man——kristallnacht indeed.

  1. Couldn't agree with you more. I especially enjoyed your mention that some uppity working class lack proper deference to the most avaricious members of our nation. LOL.

Hummmmm... kinda harsh.. wouldn't want to unsuspiciously trip off the roof top of JPMorgan's building in London. [http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/jp-morgan-name-man-who-died-after-fall-from-roof-of-canary-wharf-headquarters-as-gabriel-magee-9090071.html]

    1. I guess it is being 'uppity" if people like me refuse to bow down to people who see ill gotten gain as a reward for hard work.
