ROMNEY'S TAX PLAN: Shhh . . IT'S A SECRET

The republican convention is in full swing in Tampa. They will not talk about several things: voter suppression, their idol Ayn Rand, the Afghanistan War, the pentagon budget; the list is long. The biggest thing that is hush-hush is Romney’s Tax plan because according to them it is secret. The little that has become known is not good. The fact that they are trying to keep it a secret should raise a red flag. The first point is that it is not Romney’s it is Grover Norquist’s tax plan, which is designed to deliver a fatal wound to American government, something most of us call democracy.

Unlike Nixon’s “secret” plan to end the Vietnam War, which is still secret because there was no plan, the republicans know exactly what they want to do about taxes. They have a policy. Lower taxes until there is no money for public sector jobs or infrastructure, only enough to feed the military industrial complex. They will pay for the Pentagon by taxing the poor; there will be no middle class as it is in most third world countries: only the very poor and the very rich. What the news media has found out is that under his plan, his tax rate would fall from 14% to 0.86%. No, that is not a mistake. It really is a zero point eight six.

It makes me wonder where people like Romney will go to get money for his vulture capital and Olympic schemes. For those who care to examine his “sterling” business history, they will find that he made big money by buying companies that had had government guaranteed pension plans and making government loans then bankrupting the companies and collection on the guarantees or by going to the Government for grants ($325 million for the Olympics). He considered taxpayer’s money as free money. Here is my question to Rambo Romney, “Where are you going to go to borrow free money when there is none to borrow?”
