Governor Rick Snyder with the aid of his republican senate has instituted a strategy for hostile take over of municipalities in the state of Michigan. Against the background of the Bain Capital shenanigans, this holder of a Master of Business Administration has found a way of taking over and selling off the assets of municipalities to billionaires, which just happen to be their friends. Once they have stolen the assets, the so-called emergency managers will get out and leave the stripped towns and cities to go bankrupt. This is savage capitalism! The cost to the people of Snyder’s greed—the taxpayers—the ones who actually live in these towns and cities is horrendous but it is more than that, it takes away their right to live under a democratic government. This upsets me for a whole host of reason. As an educator, awarding of an MBA degree by an institution of higher learning is most egregious. Once universities get beyond teaching accounting to business students apparently they get into manners of doing business including how to steal . . . legally.
