The big money interests in this country are continuing their focus on taking over the courts. Of special interest is that they are going to focus on dominating the court that is one of the three branches of government, which the Supreme Court of the United States. They have taken over the House of Representative and barely have taken over the Senate by corrupting individual’s right to vote with voter ID, gerrymandering, and Citizen’s United Decision. The power of the House of Representatives can only go so far by gerrymandering and corrupting state controlled government election commissions. Apparently, in their minds they cannot corrupt voting enough to win the presidency. The danger of them controlling the Courts lies in the general drift the courts have taken over the years. We all recognize that drift is toward changing the intended purpose of the Court, which is only judging if a law passed by the legislature, the court can judge if it is constitutional or not. They have change to judges who feel it is within the realm of good jurisprudence to judge if the law is good for the people. The media refers this as “legislating from the bench”. Obviously, that is the principle purpose for the one-man one-vote basis of electing legislatures as dictated by the Constitution. A recent article in Think Progress was such an excellent presentation of this problem. I felt it should go viral and become required reading in every High School civics class in the Untied States. The article was The Future of The Democratic Party Will Be Decided By The Supreme Court by Ian Millhiser on Oct. 19, 2015. I am sure the Republican Party would raise hell if any government agency sent it to every high school. I would find that if the Republican did this, it would be revealing because like the Citizens United Decision, taking over the courts is clear partisan in nature; however, the GOP wants to hide that fact from the American people. If they objected to teaching this article, it would clearly show their support for this democracy-destroying desire. URL: firetreepub.blogspot.com Comments Invited and not moderated
