SOMEONE BROKE INTO NY PRISON TO FREE KILLER

Two killers, Richard W. Matt and David Sweat, broke out of prison on Saturday in Dannemora, N.Y. The nature of the prison break required elaborate tools and detailed knowledge of the prison structure. The big questions reverberating across the media was, where did the tools come from and where are the tools now. They opened a locked manhole several hundred feet from the prison walls and walked or drove away. Sometimes the most perplexing questions have the simplest answers. I would agree they had help but would suggest the tools came from a local hardware store and carried the tools away from the site by other than the prisoners. I cannot imagine the escaped prisoners carrying away the tools they used for the breakout. What I am suggesting is that someone opened the manhole cover and cut the two openings in the two-foot pipe well before Saturday morning. All the associated noise came from outside the prison; therefore, no one connected the noise to the prison. In other words, some broke into the prison from the outside. The two prisoners were waiting in their cells and may have helped those from the outside to get through the cell wall but had probably left the area with their tools long before the prisoners exited their cell.
