JEB BUSH IS SCHOOLYARD BULLY

Shortly after claiming he was independent, Jeb Bush published a list of his advisors. I was shocked because the list included 21 of the 22 of his brother closest advisors. At that time, I published a blog post on this website indicating, “A vote for Jeb was a vote for war”. Yesterday, people expressed great surprise when candidate Jeb, not only publically endorsed his brother’s action in Iraq, but also added him to the list of his closest Middle East advisor. Something else he said struck by as being revealing. He made the statement that the United States has no friends in the world. After saying that he immediately challenged his followers to name them, and then he answered his own question; Iran and Syria. For a man who thinks in terms of war, obviously he is asking who our allies are. Equally as obvious is we cannot have allies if we are not fighting a war. Therefore, his question should have been, how many wars are we fighting in the Middle East. The answer is zero. The evidence is the size of the casualty list, which is also zero. We are supporting a fight against radical terrorists in several countries, which begs the next question. We know whom we are fighting but who or what are we supporting. Are we fighting Sunni Muslims or Shia Muslims terrorists? Again, the answer is neither. They may be fighting and killing one another, but we are not fighting in support of either sect. They are engaged in a religious war, but we are not; we are engaged in a humanitarian fight against a small group of religious driven terrorists who are killing Muslims. Bush and his advisors are simply not capable of figuring this out. There is something terribly wrong with them, but what is it? I listened to General McChrystal selling his new book this morning on Morning Joe. He was the general who Obama fired, and the right wing is trying to turn into a hero because of that. McChrystal spouted the same old World War I and II crap; give me enough men, and arms and we do not need to be afraid of anyone in the world; of course, that is true, but that fact does not make it right. None of the radical Right-Wing warmonger philosophy will make sense to us until we ask both a Bush advisor and a schoolyard bully the same question, why engage in a war or a fight. It is not to show them we are strong—we obviously are. It cannot be for their oil—we are exporting oil. It cannot be that we want to convert Muslims to Christianity—we are a country that separates church and state. After all things are considered, the answer seems to be so simple we might overlook it; how can we prove we are the toughest unless we beat up somebody.
