LORETTA LYNCH THE NEW ABE LINCOLN

All this talk about Loretta Lynch and her appointment as Attorneys General mad me think about that office. The Department of Justice is one of the best examples of how a Federation of states works properly. The recent turmoil centering on racial unrest is a great example of the failure of States to conduct matters of “justice for all”. Attorney General Eric Holder had to step in and investigate several high profile cases. The question I had when the Florida Travon Martin shooting and then the Missouri incident in Ferguson happened was why the Federal Government and not the State Government had to take care of the problems. Clearly, there was a serious problem. The basis for the problem was not subtle. People in these two states seem among the most vociferous in demanding “their” states right. This means that the system of justice in these two states was broken at the states level and not the local level. The next step is to realize that the system of justice in these two states was in line with one another, but also they are not in line with the federal standard of justice in the other 48, 47, 46, 45 states and counting down to some unknown number. My conclusion is the DOJ under Eric Holder and now Loretta Lynch is holding this country together just as surely as the Unions Army under Lincoln held it together. It is notable that Attorney General Lynch is from North Carolina whose two Senators Burr and Tillis both voted against her confirmation. I live in North Carolina, the land of infamous Jessie Helms and know that their opposition to a black Attorney General will be a vote getter for them. Sad, but true!
