NETANYAHU CALL FOR WAR WITH IRAN

Bibi Netanyahu, a disarmingly appearing white-haired man, walked to the lectern and after a few pandering remarks began a historically significant tirade against his neighboring country. The significance of his remarks was not that they were something new; in fact, it was just the opposite. What he was saying people have been saying since the beginning of time. It is not just humankind; zoologist describes it in even the lowest of species—few would consider chicken intelligent. The audience responded as though this is the first time they have heard it; forty times, they stood and applauded. Unfortunately, those standing were the most powerful body on earth, the Congress of the United States that was doing the applauding.

He delivered his speech flawlessly, but what he said was the tired old rhetoric of realpolitik at its most bestial level. Realpolitik is a ubiquitous philosophy based on bestial innate, or embedded, peck order. We all have it including the youngest children as well as the most powerful world leaders. It is a deeply held universal sense or feeling that transcends all recognized social structures; we see in families, tribes, in schools, in neighborhoods, and in nations. We see it in such diverse organizations as sewing clubs, labor unions and even see it manifested in between religions as well as within religions. Members of our society maintain order in equally diverse ways. We most often think of diverse things such as laws, chiefs, police, or armies as tools of enforcement, but in truth, the most powerful tool is moral punishment guided by social norms and not by written laws; people in the Congress were standing and applauding when they saw their neighbors standing and applauding. Think of a teacher’s response to a student who comes to class in a short skirt or a boy who uses offensive language on a playground.

The background of our social behavior is raw Darwinian inspired “survival of the fittest”. The strongest sense we have is the sense of survival or self-preservation. The worst crime is murder; however, we can kill in self-defense. Just as with peck order, these are innate feelings that make sense. Since the beginning of time, we have been learning to modify such innate feelings. For example, we draw lines between territories, established marriage vows, build prisons, and adopt such terms as ‘unjust war’, meaning some war is just. We have established the medical profession, old age homes, soup kitchens, the Red Cross, etc. The objective of all of this is because we have learned about pain and suffering; we struggle to thwart the entire idea of survival of the fittest and sometimes carry it to a ridiculous level such as with Maria Schiavo.

Bibi Netanyahu, acting as the Prime minister of Israel, believes to survive his country must destroy its enemies and unfortunately, he believes Muslins are his enemy—killing all Muslims would be a just task. He knows there are 1.2 billion Muslims around the world. He knows if Israel attack a Muslim country, all Muslim countries would attack and destroy his beloved Israel. He knows his Jewish country cannot do that alone, they need powerful allies; he need all Christians to join them under the title of Abrahamic religions. He knows the Judeo-Christian world could not do this all at once but would essentially be a “forever” blood bath. He wants war to establish a pecking order with Israel safely as its head—the top chicken. What he did then was lay Realpolitik naked before our applauding Congress. How can it be that a majority of our Congress does not recognize that this is exactly what has been happening for the last six, eight, or the thousand years.

What the media has said below the centerfold but is not headlines is that the Majority of American, in fact, a majority of all people in the world do not want to do this. Our politics, money, and emotion have swayed Congress; it no longer represents rational man. Humankind is tired of war. We have learned that war does not pay just as we have learned that bestial survival of the fittest is best modified to include compassion and quality of life; just because survival of the fittest is in our genes it does not mean “might is right”. We have a President that can see the Middle East living in harmony simply by removing the biggest element of disharmony taken straight out of the middle ages, the very thing Bibi Netanyahu is promoting. Our President is promoting peace by demonstrating that Muslims must fight a small group of Muslim terrorists and not the entire Christian world, but also, much to the chagrin of Netanyahu, he is telling Israel it must face the world for the sins it has committed against Palestine by agreeing to a two-state solution. In addition, President Obama is standing with Israel to stamp out anti-Semitism and to tell the world Israel deserves or exists as a spiritual and religious country equivalent to the Vatican but not as a physical home for all Jews in the world.

How do I know Obama is right? Look at Dick Cheney’s attack on Iraq; we lost that war big time. It united the Muslim world against the Christian world just as an attack on Iran would do. Netanyahu’s speech was equivalent to Condoleezza Rice’s “mushroom cloud” speech both of which Dick Cheney and the warmonger received with the applause. The consequences of this foreign leader’s speech could be a Constitutional crisis of unimaginable proportions. Boehner’s invitation to Netanyahu to speak was equivalent to an unspeakable horror, which would be Congress declaring a war on Iran that our President by Constitutional Law, the Commander in Chief of the Military, does not fight. I got news for you; neither do the American people want to fight such an ill-conceived war.
