MIDDLE EAST FIGHT MOVES TO FRANCE

Today, the French people are calling for unity; they clearly have divided themselves into three groups: indigenous French, Muslims, and Jews. Actually, they have divided themselves in to six groups because each of the three groups has within their group an extreme faction. Watching the show of “unity” developing in the streets of Paris is interesting. It is clearly needed. What one does not see identified are the extreme elements on the streets and the foreign factions that are playing a part unless you look for them.

French President Francois Hollande said he is receiving heads of state from around the world including Benjamin Netanyahu, Mahmoud Abbas, David Cameron, Angela Merkel, King Abdullah of Jordan, leaders from Spain and Italy, Turkey, Tunisia, and the U.S. ambassador to France, Jane Hartley. Of course, everyone knows that essentially every country in the world has an embassy in France; therefore, the U.S. ambassador was not invited, she was already there. It doesn’t take a denizen of some dimly lighted State Department back room to see the backhanded insult France is directing at the United States and Canada. Remember the radical nationalism of Charles DeGualle, the World War II General who didn’t fight Germany but claimed the French were the leaders in winning that war that filled their cemeteries with American and Canadian dead; his dastardly spirit lives on in the French of today. Hollande orchestrated this demonstration of “World Unity”, in the sprit of DeGualle, to demonstrate that France is not only the center of the world but is the leading nation in the world and that he is the leader of that nation.

I had understood the fight in France was between the Muslims minority and the French people but it now appears that was only one aspect of the recent unrest. Thus, an equally, if not more, disturbing thing for me about this unity rally is that the circumstance in France appears to have singled out the Jews as a faction, as if French Jews are different from other French people. This fact introduces a foreign implication in the unity rally; the fight in the Middle East is between Israelis and Palestinians and not between French Jews and French Muslims. This “unity” demonstration suggests that not only the French Government but other European governments understand that an anti Semite French element has joined the extremists of the French Muslim minority, and both are attacking Jews thus are not only extending the fighting of the Middle East war into France but involving France as well as Europe in that fight.

The fact that Netanyahu is playing such a big part in the unity demonstration is also disturbing to me for the following reason. I have long believed, and have posted blogs to that effect, that Israeli horrible mistreatment of Palestinians is what provokes much of the anti Semite sentiment around the world. The radical right wing element of the Israeli government under the control of Benjamin Netanyahu, the very same man attending that unity demonstration, is responsible for that result. I hear him quoted as inviting French Jews to “their Jewish homeland in Israel”, which is like throwing gasoline on the fire; it intensifies and provokes further division. Netanyahu is a bad man; HE IS THE ONE WHO MOVED THE MIDDLE EAST FIGHT TO FRANCE. .
