DISGUSTING REPORTING ON MIDDLE EAST

Why is it so hard for some to understand Obama’s policy in the Middle East? Talking head after talking head, so-called experts, gets on TV and tells us we cannot win in Iran trying to use a military solution, which is why he is not putting boots on the ground. A few attack fighters and bombers is not the same as an army. Why is it so hard to understand why President Obama rejects the advice of general after general; there is not a living general who believes that war can only be all out war. They believe they can win any war given enough men and equipment—Powell calls it overwhelming force. There seems not to be a single general, or talking head for that matter, who understands that they cannot change the religious belief of 1.2 million people by killing them at the end of a gun. We must teach them and that the only way there can be peace is if they separate church from state; a lesson most of us learned just 250 years ago; some will never learn. The office of faith based initiatives in the Bush White House was an example. Obama is telling them by using aircraft, he is giving them time to learn; however, they must do the hard “mind changing” work themselves or live in constant turmoil killing off one another.

Another item I find irritating; why do they get on TV and complain about not having direct discussion with ISIS. Why do they insist on using the acronym of ISIS and not ISIL? ISIS is the name the beheading murderous rebel use for their state that they would like us to believe exists and some do by using the name they picked. In contrast, ISIL is the region. It is simple. Do they not understand that ISIL is a transnational group of rebels and not a sovereign nation? To have our president, the leaders of the free world, negotiate with a group of rebels would give them status a group of bloodthirsty thugs does not deserve; I would be like complaining about our president negotiating with the Grand Wizard of the KKK.
