GIRL SHOOTS NRA IN FOOT

I was not surprised at the out come of the event. The parents of a nine-year old girl brought her to a shooting range to have a professional teach her how to shoot an assault weapon—a nine millimeter ozi submachine gun. My first thought on hearing that she shoot her instructor was “stupid is as stupid does”. The open question is, “Why were “they” filming it?” I can come up with only one answer, which is they would show it to family, friends, and the NRA. With that film in hand, there would be no doubt they were “gun rights people”! They are among the people who are on the tough and law-abiding side of America, the true patriots, and defenders of the constitution. It would have been a great promotional film for the NRA . . . it just didn't turn out that way.

Everyone agrees, thus, there can be no doubt that even a pretty little girl needs to learn how to defend herself. She should learn how to use a 7.72 pound, 17.5 inch ozi compact sub machine gun before she starts to carry one under her skirt or in her purse.

  1. The range/restaurant they were at, with part of their advertising being "shoot a machine gun." It's a tourist attraction. The parents taking their child to do something she has never done before.

Just like many tourist attractions, pictures and, in this case, video are constantly being taken. Why is there "No Doubt" it was an NRA gun activist promotional video and not just a family video of some memories.

It is an unfortunate event, no doubt. But I don't see the connection on why this "no doubt" was an NRA "Gun Right Activist" promotional video. This was a tourist attraction not a official training course for a conceal/carry license. Just because someone shoots a gun, do they support the NRA?

    1. You make a good point. You are correct; as I see it, I should have waited until the NRA makes a statement about the incident, then make the comment. However, from past exposure to the NRA, I am confident they will say nothing or try to use the video to promote gun ownership. Never, will they say anything negative about ozi machine guns floating around society. I am aware of many parents, such as the parents of this girl, who take pictures of their children doing dangerous things “on vacation”; that do not make it right. By the way, we only see pictures on TV if they turn out badly, or in the case of guns, in ads promoting gun ownership.

After a child shoots his three-year old brother or sister, allowing anyone to shoot an ozi machine gun is as stupid and irrelevant in justifying gun sales as saying, “the only thing that can stop a bad guy with at gun is a good guy with at gun”. Guns, such as the ozi, designed to kill people, belong only in the hands of a “well regulate militia” and not in tourist attractions.

    2. I completely agree Jerry, the UZI or any other submachine and/or assault weapon belong in the proper hands of a well trained "militia" who practices/trains regularly. Not in a tourist attraction.

Focusing on this incident, has either NRA or Gun control supporters commented on the ranges "proactive " means/policies to ensure this never happened in the first place?

I don't believe (strictly my opinion) that the NRA would support the idea of a policy that allowed a young child utilizing a submachine gun in any setting just like any Gun control supporter.

I don't feel that Gun Control/Gun Rights supporters should be in disagreement when it comes to this tourist attractions lack of being proactive in policies
