DOES THE PRESIDENT STAND ALONE

The background for the debate over Iraq and the ISIS terrorists is an American classic—as people say, it could only happen in America. The fast majority of the people want peace, they do not want more war, and they especially do not want to go to war in Iraq. The Republican majority in Congress will not respond to the wants and needs of the country because they want to hurt this president. They even want to sue or impeach him—we all know this is ridiculous. In addition, we have a representative government that is no longer representative—we elect people who represent only a small fraction of the population because most of us do not vote; thus, the majority allows a small radical group control who represents us, then we complain bitterly about those elected—they are less popular than termites.

We shake in fear of collectivism because to people in general it represents taking from the rich and giving to the poor. The dreaded redistribution of wealth; yet, our founding fathers created a “federations of states” designed to do just that; the big heavily populated or rich states share their wealth so even poor less populated states can have equally good schools and highways, safe water supplies and affordable energy. Our richest states can trade equally with the poorest states who share with them labor and resources. A growing fraction of our population hates government intervention in our personal lives such as minimum wage, Common Core Curriculum, and income taxes based on knowing how much each person earn; it is this government intervention that makes us great through fair distribution of wealth by taxation and salaries. Our form of government gives poor states equal rights with right states according to a near miracle formula involving the Senate and House of Representatives worked out over 200 years ago and all under one leader, the president.

A good leader is of prime importance in times like these because he is the only solid leadership we have; 330,000,000 people in this country and he stands alone. The Supreme Court is tearing apart our Constitution while telling us they are saving it; those in the 1% who benefit believe them. Our president is the only reason we are surviving. I am appreciative of that and am confident the leader we have will take good care of all of our bombs, ships, and airplanes; Iraq, immigration, fair wages, human rights, taxation, oil reserves, etc, etc. I shutter to think of anyone else as president especial one of those we read about in the right wing press and hear on talk radio who wants to kill all 1.2 billion Muslims because they are Muslims; one of the people who cannot separate political rhetoric from reality.
