GOP DARRELL ISSA TRAVESTY

Where is the Houses Ethics Committee when you need them? Rep. Darrell Issa is so out of line; he should publically apologize to Rep. Cummings for preventing him from exercising his right to speak. In addition to his inexcusable conduct, Issa is trying so hard to create a scandal where none exists that he has turned the committee into a farce. How many times do they have to go over the same information that clearly shows there was no scandal? Apparently, the lie strikes such a cord for Republicans they keep repeating it. They want everyone to think the “evil” IRS targeted them. The right wing radical press, being what it is, often personalizes their lies by saying such crazy things as Obama is attacking their innocent efforts at good government. The truth is that political operative Karl Rove is a crook and got caught using a distorted law at the IRS to avoid paying taxes on huge campaign donations made by corporate donors. As Lawrence O’Donnell of MSNBC discovered, the 501 c 4 laws were changed during the Eisenhower administration to allow political donations to be tax exempt if they “primarily for educational purposes” and not “exclusively”. The IRS was following the distorted law and in reviewing both liberal and conservative organizations in respect to their activities. Rove complained because, in his opinion, they were asking too many questions that he apparently had trouble answering. His complaints evolved into the lie that it is today.

Committee “disctator” Darrell Issa has gone so far that he is going to hold former IRS director Lois Lerner in contempt on these trumped up charges, which was the issue Cummings wanted to address.
