Occasionally someone says something that you already know but
didn’t realize what it means. This morning, Senator Angus King (I-Maine) said the
Tea Party is not creating the budget crisis to destroy Obamacare. They not only
want to kill the Affordable Health Care Act, but mainly want to destroy the United States government. This explains why they piled on all the terrible things they knew
President Obama and their fellow congressional representatives could not
support. They want the country to drive
over the fiscal cliff. The bottom lines is that there is no compromise;
there is nothing anyone can do to please them.
Most American are laboring under the illusion that the Tea
Party are truly trying to avoid the financial shut down because everyone,
including them, know the consequences would be too terrible to contemplate.
That is wrong. This group of 120 or so congressional representatives knows the
consequences are too terrible to contemplate but that is exactly what they want
to happen. Apparently, they believe that they can build a “radial right wing
utopia” out of the ashes.
I cannot imagine what that would be. Ted Cruz as God! Ayn Rand
as Queen and David Koch as King! All airports, damns, and tall buildings named after
Ronald Reagan. Will it be some form of political apartheid with all democrats as
the under-class—untouchables!
Isn’t it about time to blame the people who are truly
responsible, the people in the states and districts who voted such irresponsible
people into office? After all they were
the ones that were dumb enough to listen to the ads designed by Karl Rove and paid
for by the Koch brothers, or the Walton family, or Sheldon Adelson, or Art
Pope.
