SYRIA AND ALL THAT GAS

+Alan Grayson is a “pushy” Democratic Congressman from Florida. He strikes me as being brash and unpredictable but intelligent. He made a comment about Syria that on the one hand made a lot of sense but on the other seemed to go against the facts on the ground. I would like to know the truth. He said al Assad was willing to negotiate because he was afraid that the rebels were going to get their hands on his stockpile of poisons gas and use it against him. This would explain what appeared to be his sudden willingness to negotiate. It might even suggest, but seems highly unlikely, that the gas that the used by rebel forces but came from his stockpiles.

What seemed out of character for a dictator is to think they he might lose the war when most experts seem to think he is winning and that the rebels need the Untied States to help them if they are ever going to win.  Of course, the idea that thousands of tons of nerve gas in the hands of +al Queda is a terrifying.

Grayson is a junior member on the Committee of Foreign Affairs so probably received classified briefings. I would be curious about what “actually” he knows about the possession of the Syria’s gas stockpiles, at least until the UN gets possession
