CONGRESSMAN MATT SALMON (R-Az) CONFESSES

Matt Salmon, congressman from Arizona, said it all this morning on morning Joe (MSNBC). He said and I quote, “. . . my vote is not for me to decide.” He  said this while burying his statement in the Republican rhetoric or “talking points” his party programmed him to say about trashing Obamacare. We will never know what the people in his district want. The spontaneity of what he said makes me believe he was speaking the truth. He was confessing to being a party stooge.

What he was saying tells us exactly what is wrong with political party control of our congress. We elect individuals to represent us in our districts. They are in Washington to say what “we the people” want them to say and not what the party wants them to say. There are 435 representatives, 100 Senators, and 6 nonvoting members. Each one of them should have a different point of view while the average opinion, which is what a voted is, is what the American people want. The Democrats have a loose party structure; however, because of strict Republican Party discipline, the Chair of the Republican Party, Reince Priebus is whom they represent: you vote the way we tell you or we will “primary” you. Party discipline is as old as the hills; the new thing is turning the word ‘primary’ into a verb. Matt Salman, you just confessed that you are a party puppet, a prime example of what is wrong with the United Sates.
