TOM TILLIS, A BAD CHOICE FOR NORTH CAROLINA
The big ugly vulture “American for Prosperity” has landed on
the carcass of North Carolina in the form of a $200,000 ad buy. They have
targeted the North Carolina Senate race of Tom Tillis against incumbent Senator
Kay Hagan. Tillis as speaker of the North Carolina House of Representatives has
put the state on the path of destruction of democracy with every bill they
passed. There was no piece of legislation
that was good for the people—not one.
The taxes are sky rocketing on the middle class, the cost of
utilities are climbing at a rate beyond any other state or time, the poll tax
makes it impossible for poor people to vote, gerrymandering and voter suppression
laws makes it impossible for people to go to the poll. It is the best state in
the union for business because the State legislature has opened taxpayers’ pockets
to them; for example, General Electric brought 50 jobs to the state and pays $50,000
a year but the state gave them the equivalent of $80,000 in tax brakes and subsidies
for each job. As leader of a radial Republican state legislative body, he has
corrupted democracy in our once beautiful State to the point that it is no more
than a progressive carcass.
Art Pope and the Koch Brothers greed know no bounds; they are here not only to gloat over their work
but they want to pick the last bit of rotten meat. If you see the name,
Americans for Prosperity on an ad that means it is dirty politics. If you see the name, Karl Rove, you know for
certain it is dirty politics. If you see the name, Art Pope or the Koch
Brothers associated with anything, it is bad news for the American people. The
best thing you can do is start a campaign to prevent the election of Tom Tillis. You may have voted Republican in
the last elections because of race, or abortion, or welfare, or because of jobs,
or because of utility costs, or high taxes but you are now paying the price. By
know you have to know that your vote was not in your own best interest.
