REPUBLICANS LAUNCH PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN

Reince Priebus, Republican national Committee chair and Ayn Rand disciple, took a breech birth approach to start the Republican campaign against Hilary Clinton. The first thing you see in his campaign is not he smiling face of the Republican candidate but something else, which in this case is the face of Priebus. Of course, no one can possible know who the actual presidential nominee will be.

Reince Priebus announced that if NBC airs movies about Hilary Clinton he would prevent that network the rights to show any presidential candidate debates. This is obviously and attempt to use strong-arm tactics to further his party—go after the bottom line if a big business is equivalent to striking at their heart. Some of the background to his pronouncement is interesting. First, he does not want the Republican candidate debates standing before the American people debating a Democrat, which means he wins both ways. If the network caves into his demands, the American people will not see a film that lauds Hilary Clinton or they would not see the debates.

In the past, it was a disaster when Republicans debated each other but would be far worse if someone who represented the 1% had to debate someone who represented the 99%; that is just the nature of the modern Republican Party.  The second aspect of the situation is that he is attacking the entertainment arm, not the news arm, of NBC for showing a move produced by FOX entertainment. He is pitting media against media. It will be an interesting thing to watch.
