Once again, I am disappointed in Senator John McCain.
The president of the United States briefed congress on his upcoming announcement
concerning Syria. The White House had finally proved beyond reasonable doubt
that the Assad Regime had used chemical weapons against its own people, which
meant that the President was ready to supply military assistance to the “rebels”.
Such briefings are given with the understanding that the White House and not
congressional representatives will make the public announcement. It is not
written nor is it expressed in any way; it is a gentleman’s agreement. So what
did John McCain do; he goes to the senate floor and publicly announces what the
president had said and then condemns it as being too little too late. He not
only stepped on the announcement but he tried to trash it before Obama had
actually made it. McCain’s action can be only interpreted in one way. Yes, John McCain is a hero, but he is a hero
without honor.
