Snowden is guilty but so is Glen Greenwald and by association but so is Chris Hayes and Rachel Maddow among many, many other liberal media TV and
radio hosts who jumped on the Greenwald band wagon with breaking news. There is
breaking news and there is breaking news: a story that is wrongly reported is
not breaking news.
By his own admission, Glen Greenwald “reported” that Snowden
told him he had secret U.S. government information. He said that Snowden told
him that he must buy an encryption device, for his computer before he would
talk to him. Greenwald complied. Snowden gave him enticing details and told him that he had
much more information. Snowden told him that all of the information was harvested
from secret National Security Administration (NSA) computers because he, Snowden,
decided that the “American people” deserved to know the truth. He was a systems
analyst; a naive punk operating way out of pay grade
Greenwald is a reporter. Judging from past reporter and talking
media attitudes, he should have access to all secret government information,
and they will decide what should be
secret and what the American people should know—Chris Hayes has repeated
this refrain over-and-over. With that in mind after Greenwald accepted the call
from Snowden, he did not call NSA, the FBI or the CIA and tell them that a
clerk named
Snowden, who worked for a government contractor, was
prepared to leak government secrets. Instead, he complied with the leakers
request and bought the encryption device. Once he read the “downloads”—if he
believed them— he should have realized that the NSA would listen-in on his
communications, encrypted or not, which is precisely what the Snowden message
said they would do. If he did not believe them meaning they were not true, as
an ethical reporter, he should not have published them. Still he did not report
Snowden to the authorities, but published the information for the entire world
to read. Both he and Snowden were being coy. Snowden told Greenwald he had more
information and Greenwald told his readers he had more to publish—carrots to entice
more interest.
Chris Hayes and Rachel Maddow among many other liberal media
TV host gave the news wide publicity, I assume with the idea of enhancing their
liberal credentials. Right wing TV and Radio Host joined in hoping to condemn the
government, specifically Obama and Attorneys General Eric Holder and by
extension, Keith Alexander, the four star general who heads NSA, which they
want to destroy, the Obama administration. Both liberals and conservatives tended to turn
the traitor into a hero. Now some of them are realizing the damage that Snowden
and Greenwald have done. Greenwald should be charged and not just Snowden. Why charge
the reporter? He did not report the treason therefore was complicit in the
criminal act. He bought the encryption device thus complied with Snowden, which
is proof that Greenwald willfully aided him in revealing U.S, Government
secrets. The fact that Snowden lied is irrelevant because no one knows what
information he actually has but we know his intent. We also have to assume he
handed the information, what ever it is, to the Chinese and the Russians. It
would be totally foolish and irresponsible to believe otherwise.
