McCRORY, NORTH CAROLINA EQUALS BAD GOVERNMENT

North Carolina is making the front-page national news. Sadly, my State is receiving this notoriety because of its terrible politics. In my eyes, Gov. McCrory is really a bad governor. He lied; he sold himself to the voters based on his work as mayor of Charlotte; he cooperated with Democrats and got a lot done and promised to do the same as Governor. This echoes Romney campaign, which he based on his time in Massachusetts working with Democrats. The health care law, for example, was a model for Obamacare. These two politicians built a good reputation of working with the “loyal” opposition. When I look at what McCrory has done in office in just four months, it proved my contention make before his election, which was that he is a Republican of the worst kind; he is selfish, he is greedy. I did not base my contention on thin air. I based it on the past actions of Scott Walker, John Kasich, Rick Snyder, and Rick Scott. I shutter to think of what would have been the consequences of electing Romney president.

The GOP has a super majority in the North Carolina legislative body thanks to the money of Art Pope. The have control of nine of the 13 legislative districts in the state. They are using their newfound power to do many things Republicans think are the right things to do including thing that will help them to maintain political dominance.

1. They are busy overturning the civil right legislation, which is the foundation of desegregation and racial servitude.
2. Corrupting the voting processes which is the foundation of the democratic process.
3. Destroying public schools, this is the foundation of our educational system and therefore, class mobility.
4. Turning women into chattel, which up sets the foundation of gender equality.
5. Overturning separation of church and state, which is the foundation of religious liberty.  6. Promoting xenophobia, which is the foundation of Federal immigration laws.
7. They are voiding Medicare, cutting unemployment insurance payments, and other decisions dealing with social programs, which are hurting hundreds of thousands of people.
8. They are cutting business taxes and increasing taxes on the middle class, which is fundamental to establishing a plutocracy.

McCrory’s treasonous conduct is happening so fast most, but not all, people seem to be stunned into silence. Dissecting the broad sweep of what seems to have happened all of a sudden is not easy for many reasons. We have had over 600 years of warning. Some might think that citing 600 years is a typo but it is not. In fact, the figure might have been 600,000 years and still is not hyperbole. Regular visitors to this blog spot, firetreepub.blogspot.com, know the author is an adherent to evolutionary psychology and promotes the idea that human society is based on multilayered hierarchy dominance. Where ever there is more than one person there is some form of innate tendency to establish some sort of order: family, groups, clubs, tribe, city county state, and nation, one within and overlapping the next forming a bewildering array only a PhD sociologist could figure out. In addition, there are innate dominating personalities: leaders and followers within each overlapping social subdivision. At the fundamental level of personality, we have innate selfishness or greed and in a polar way, we have altruism. One person is not all greed and another not all-altruistic but the two traits exist in different intensities within each individual; thus, create a unique personal balance culminating in organized political parties as recognizable units of hierarchy dominance in society; a greedy party and an altruistic party. Altruism as a trait is a growing and replacing greed as part of the civilizing process or the development of our “humanization”. We are moving away from our bestial past but still conserve it in a primitive form.

When we amalgamate all of these things into our natural history, we can “know” the foundation of what is happening in North Carolina. The first response to this thought is that it is ridiculous; it is equivalent to putting the Atlantic Ocean in a family bathtub. However, I challenge you to look at the above list of eight items and tell me which is not true, which is not related to hierarchy dominance, and which does not have some relationship to greed and selfishness. Most important, point out which one is not being done by the Republican Party in North Carolina. Like Grover Norquist, they will drag our government in to the bathroom, drown it in the bathtub, and replace it with a plutocracy, which is the full equivalent of a 10th century monarchy or even a tribal chief.
