SCARBOROGH THE HYPOCRITE

Joe Scarborough was particularly disgusting this morning on the Morning Joe (MSNBC) over the average income of American Workers. Of course, his dance was the usual two-step of Republicans. He wants his listeners to believe he is on their side so he blames Obama for the falling average wage over time while claiming he supports raising the minimum wage as Obama suggested in the SOTU speech. Joe! That means the government is sticking their nose in your business, which is what you say every morning is something that you hate as a “small government conservative”. What a hypocrite!

He knows damn well that Reagan predicated his “trickle-down” economics on having a large number of low wageworkers to increase the amount of money at the top. It is working so well that Obama has to continue doing things to change it. What he is asking for by asking for a minimum wage increase is redistribution of wealth through earned salaries and taxes. He passed the tax increase on the wealth and now wants to increase wages for the working poor—the takers—the people who work 40 hours a week and are still be poverty. By the way, they cannot afford an expensive cup of your sponsor’s coffee.

Time after time left wing talking heads on TV have shown a graph of the steady increase in profits (Republican red) and steady decline in wages (Democratic blue) since their conservative hero Reagan made it OK to put profit above all else including apple pie and motherhood. Time after time business executives have pointed out that once American wages plummet to that of Chinese workers Wal-Mart will be selling made in America products as if that will make what they are doing OK. Our business economics is now completely profit driven, not just a reasonable profit on investment but by uncontrolled greed and not morality, patriotism, or anything else—just money for the sake of money.
