NRA FANS FLAMES OF MYTHICAL BELIEF

Wayne LaPierre has done it again. He stood before a radical group of survivalists and advocates of government hate and accused Obama of wanting to take guns away from “right thinking” Americans and put guns in the hands of criminals—take guns from the “good” guys and put them in the hands of the “bad” guys while standing in front of a crowd of bad guys. How can rational people believe an assault weapon, which gun manufactures designed to kill people, has any use other than to kill people? It is ludicrous. The people at the dinner he was speaking to were not hunters and target shooters. They were there because they, as individualist, think the world is going to “come to an end” and they will be the only ones left alive as gruesomely portrayed in the 2009 post-apocalyptic drama The Road or they are anarchists, the one who want to destroy the government to save it. The more easily lead are there to protect themselves because of their mythical belief that the government will come for their guns—which is precisely the flames LaPierre is fanning in the name of gun manufactures. It is one of many instances where corporate greed runs counter to survival of the culture that supports them. The mob at they dinner was a pathetical collection of people who are not capably of understanding gun registration and bands on assault weapons is designed to keep guns out of criminals and dangerous people.
