Senator Rand Paul has a suggestion. He said the Senate
should allow the Democrats to raise taxes by voting “present” and President Obama
will sign the bill. Then, he says, the Democrats will own the tax increase when
the economy collapses. Senator Mitch McConnell suggested that Congress give the
President Obama the power to raise the debit ceiling but retain the power to overturn
the president’s actions by a 2/3 vote.
Wonderful! Both suggestions are great. All republicans should
endorse them. The tax increase will increase payment on the debt but also increase
jobs. Giving the president the power to increase the debt limit will do away
with the possibility of having the Republicans destroy our credit rating—again.
It would put the United States back on tract to a recovery from the George W.
Bush fiasco. It might signal the end of their crying about everyone blaming
them for their policies, the ones that created the problem in the first place. Don’t
hold your breath until these tow things happen; these two guys can’t even tell the
truth when talking to themselves let alone the country.
