PREDICTION: GOV. HALEY APPOINTS SELF TO SENATE

It will come as no surprise when Governor Nikki Haley (born Nimrata Nikki Randhawa) appoints herself as the New Senator as replacement for rogue Senator Jim Demint. There is no doubt that she is a right of center conservative and has the power of the governors chair. In addition, she represents something the conservative movement badly needs in the senate: she is woman, she is a first generation America, and she is re-electable even though being from a state with more blue counties that red. She belongs to both a Christian church and a Sikh temple, she satisfies the radical church litmus test on abortion having supported all pro-life regulations but recognizes rape and incest as crimes. Additionally, she is a genetic based conservative, which means she is obsessed with being in the highest obtainable position possible. In this case, that position is the Senate position. It is in her power to make that decision. All of this means she will not have Tea Party opposition. The only negative is the question of her twice accused but unproven infidelity—late night hotel hallway tapes don’t count. Nonetheless, in the “radical, rabid, red” church circle, that is enough to condemn her to “burn eternally in a lake of fire”.  However, once elected, she can put out the fire by catering to the wishes of the church on the floor of the United States Senate; the church can be fickle if it results in something in their collection plate such as government supported faith based initiatives a la George W. .

In terms of not being good for the country, aside from the conservative tendency of putting personal and Republican Party gain over the country, Sarah Palin endorsed her in her run for governor. For me, her acceptance of a Palin endorsement is an inerasable black mark—a sign she can be influenced by radicals for personal gain. A positive for the country is that even though she is right wing she is not the blind ideologue Demint was, at least I hope that's the case.
