I really do not think that we could recover from a Romney
victory. I said the same thing after Bush took the White House. Bush did his job
exactly as I suspected he would and the results were so bad that the American
people elected Obama by a landslide. It turned out Obama was able to overcome Republican
Congress hateful obstructionism. Nonetheless, while Obama was president something
else was happening. The Republicans were perusing their permanent majority agenda to turn the country over to rich, the 1%.
Look at the radical right-wing or red Supreme
Court. No one can deny the court has ruled that dollars are words; hence, the a few rich have more money hence more words
than the entire middle class does.
Look at the Pentagon
that is supposed to be there to protect us all; it is no more that a arm of the
Republican party, or the military Industrial complex. They have so much money
that they have taken over the State
Department function. The secretary of defense is flying around the world in
his own plane corrupting foreign government giving out money right and left to
fit the conservative agenda. Perhaps, you didn’t you know about Senator Jim DeMint’s
Honduran overthrow of an elected
president: a fiasco done in the name of the textile industry executives,
the ones that give him more campaign money, or the 200 Marines in Guatemala, or the million of dollars to Taiwan, or the truck
to such little countries as Belize, or, or, or … .
Examine the state of unions in the United States. They have relentlessly
pursued an anti middle class agenda.
That started in 1947 with the Taft-Hartley anti labor legislation (vetoed by
Truman) and continues into to day on multiple fronts. The Republican Governors
Association fired to teachers and other public sector workers such as police
and firefighters. The Red governors destroyed public sector unions’ right to bargain.
That is why I blog about Scott Walker so much. He isn’t more red than most he
just got more press than most.
Have you noticed how the infrastructure of this country has
deteriorated with the republican Congress failure to pass the job s bill? Have
you looked at the way they have redrawn electoral districts in Republican
controlled states to favor their candidates? Perhaps you should. Have you
noticed that the right to vote for millions of people has been lost to
Republican changes in voting procedures?
Have you noticed that our universities are in the hands of industrialist (University Industrial Complex: Amazon Kindle). They are not there to teach. They are there to do research for industry subsidized by taxpayers. They have been strangled by those who give research grants.
These things have happened when they did not have their
stooge in the white house. Even a great President could not prevent them from
doing this because they manipulated the rules of congress to give their minority
the right to obstruct positive legislation. Think of what would happen with Romney in the White House; think of Bush in the White House, again; and that
should scare the hell out of you. The only reason we are recovering from Bush is that we have Obama but if we have Romney in the White House it may have gone to far to recover from, which is exactly what Karl Rove wants.
