The two faces of the Republican Party are pervasive in U.S.
Politics. For example, it is the lesson
learned from Wisconsin. It is the a pattern developed to cover up the shame
of Ayn Rand philosophy she so eloquently described in her book Virtues of Selfishness. I used the word 'described' rather then say originate because I believe the Republican trait is based
on individual greed and is innate that has been institutionalize in our culture.
Look at the Governor Scott Walker’s recall election. First, it came about
so quickly that the people of Wisconsin had to wait until certain time limitations
required by statue expired. The laws of the state were fashioned to give a politician
time to develop and enact programs. In Walkers case, he developed the programs long
before he became governor; they were standard
Republican programs. He enacted them on day one of his administration. I know this pattern because Republican controlled
State governments across the Nation enacted exactly the same program.
Why is understanding the two faced party philosophy so
important? Last night debate between
Biden and Ryan made it clear. Ryan-Romney;
yes, I know that it should be said to be Romney-Ryan, but that is part of the two face approach. It is bait and switch. It is
like a good cop: bad cop routine with both having the same objective. Ryan is
too toxic as a Ayn Rand politician to be elected to anything if he told the truth, for example if he
said where he would cut the budget. Back to the Scott Walker model; he campaigned
as a moderated conservative but the second he was elected he set about to open the State’s coffers to big business, cut public
school, raise taxes on the middle class, destroy collective bargaining, and
other union busting measures including taking their pensions and crippling
their ability to support democratic candidates. He even set about to destroy
deer hunting for the middle class by privatizing it. He campaigned on none of this.
His program was the preset Republican program. The point of this Firetreeblog
spot is to point out that the public face of the Ryan-Romney campaign is not the face you will see if you elect
them. Do not be suckered in to the bait and switch and put the country through
a Presidential recall election. Once you give the key to the U.S. treasury to
them, it is too late. Yes, we can learn from Scott Walker but we can also learn
more from George W. Bush.
