I watched a TV commercial in support for Pat McCrory for
governor of North Carolina. Everyone recognized this guy as a vantejista and advantage taker. Some like to think this would be a good trait to
have in a governor; nonetheless, they should be careful. His interest is not to serve the state but to serve himself. This is
not just empty rhetoric. For example, he said he will open the state to “fracking
for gas”. Even though geologists tell us there is very little gas, there are
lots of negatives for doing this
such as mini earth quakes and gas contamination of water supplies. If he is willing to turn our state’s natural resources
over to the nation’s energy industry
while ignoring the down side, ask why.
The answer is because of big campaign donations. However, there is something more
important to the people of North Carolina and the people of the United States.
The fine print on the bottom of the McCrory TV ad said “funded”
by the Republican Governors Association”. Ask yourself, what the Republican Governors’
Association is going to gain by electing McCrory as Governor. Nothing, but those
who support that association will. The point is that the people made rich by
the energy industry in Alaska, Texas, North Dakota, and Oklahoma will have our
governor representing their interest and not ours; do you think they care if
your tape water burns or you house shakes. They only care if they can make more money-American Greed in the raw. Rethink you vote.
