If there ever was a social hot potato of the moment, this is
it. Everyone knows what forcible rape
is so why is the subject grabbing headlines. Force intercourse without out consent. The usual scenario is a man physically
and violently forces a woman to have sex. When, drugs and alcohol become
involved, the scene becomes less clear. “I did it but did not know what I was
doing.” I remember a court case in St. Paul when the Judge asked the victim,
who claimed to be drunk at the time, who took off her underwear, she relied “I
did” but . . . I love but as a conjunction. It really means, everything I said
up to this point was a lie. This segues into “candy is candy but liquor is
quicker.”
Why are we even reading about this on the front page? It is not because of women's rights, it is because
of abortion. Akin and a number of radical conservative followers, including
Paul Ryan, believe force rape cannot result in pregnancy. They say a woman is not
physiological capable of becoming pregnant if the sex is forced; which everyone,
including them, knows is not even close to being true. Why would they say this
if they know it is not true? Politicians call it “vote getting.” It is like
saying “Obama is not born in the United States”. They say these things because man
inherently needs some shred of reason for positions he or she takes even if outlandish. Once their position is on the front page, they can put
forward what they truly believe. An abortion for a rape victim is murder, because
such things as physical force, alcohol, drugs, or candy is not an excuse sex. Accordingly,
“pregnant women wanted to have the sex
that resulted in her pregnancy.” Why punish a poor unborn "baby" for the woman's crime. They do want a progressive president and
they do not want women to have abortions—zero tolerance.
I intentionally used the word ‘murder’ in the above
paragraph. Murder is a universally accepted sin. There is only one reason for
murder that is not a sin, which is “self defense.” Conservative backed “stand your
ground laws” are based on it. NRA influence depends on it. Nevertheless, when
it comes to a woman, she has not right to save her own life if the fetus is
killing her. Life is important do matter
where you find it but so is quality of life. Priests, preachers, and
politician who put the fetal life above all other forms of life without reason are
wrong—dead wrong. The message should be clear; keep churches out of government and
keep the government out of churches. The decision to have or not have an
abortion is not your business it is between the woman and her God, if she has
one.
