Why is it that the shooting of 12 people in a theater in Aurora bring to mind the name Wayne LaPierre. Why does the name Gabby Gifford or Trvon Martin bring up the same name? Why does the Columbine High School bring up the National Rifleman’s Association. There is one simple reason. Guns do not kill people but people with guns do. The tired old argument that it is the Second Amendment Right is garbage. Read the amendment; it says state militias must have the right to arm themselves. It was clearly intended to recognize that States are sovereign units with the right to defend themselves from each other and from the Federation. The decision of the Roberts Supreme Court is politically motivated and clearly wrong. Catering to a powerful fringe group, no matter what it is wrong. It is exactly what a right correctly thinking Supreme Court should protest us from them.
Every time an individual become angry enough to slam a fist into a wall, or slap the dash board in traffic, or yell at someone, and we all have irrational “fits” of rage, we grab for . . . our gun because we have a Constitutional right to have one. When we feel that we are being treated unfairly in the work place, not receive the grades from our teacher that we feel we should get, etc. we slam the wall or we grab our gun—which ever is easy. We can thank LaPierre for making the gun the handiest. In addition, we can thank you the voter. Isn’t it about time the American People, which is you, stop basing your votes on such non sense.
