SCOTUS: ANOTHER BAD DECISION

This week, the Supreme Court has reaffirmed the Citizens United decision. I really wonder if the American people realize the basis of the Courts decision decision.  In a flood of righteous, the court claims to be interpreting our constitution in a fundamental way, while in truth they are making law, unfortunately it is criminal law. The Robert’s Court is an activist court of the worst kind. The appointment of judges since the time of Reagan, but especially under Bush, and George W., the son of a Bush, was associated with a well financed “political” campaigning. The conservatives flooded the halls of congress with lobbyists who had hands full of money. Some people of the U.S. were aware of what was happening. However, even if they knew, their action was far removed from the level of understanding of the average person’s acquaintance with government. Very few people knew what legislative body let alone what congressional representatives on what committee counted in the appointments or even how the system works; therefore, their votes for their vote for or against a committee member would be meaningless.

The next point is that the Court apparently said money is words. As an aside, the original “corporations are people, ruling violated all rules of jurisprudence. Never the less, the ruling stands.  If you have a lot of money, you have many words. The court courts argument is that it is fair because if industrialists give large sums of money, you are free to counter by doing the same. This only sound fair if you have millions, which cycles right back to the people who lobbied to appoint these judges. This is so obviously unfair, it is ludicrous.

Twenty-two states fought to prevent corporate corruption in government but lost. The obvious answer to the obvious question is obvious; if the States (and the nation) lost who won?
