Some people do not understand. The President has only limited power. Congress has to pass the legislation,. For example, President Obama has been trying to create jobs. He has put forward three jobs bills that would have created over one million jobs. Republican congressional representatives-one hundred percent-have voted them down. These same people lie and say the president isn’t doing anything to create jobs. There is an obvious reason! We saw the reason at work in Wisconsin and in California. Millions of dollars resulted in Scott Walker to retaining his job, which means we will have to wait until the courts removes him for criminal malfeasance. Maybe not, he has a huge criminal defense fund. A California tax on cigarettes is the next example. Tobacco companies spent more on advertising against the tax. The fact that they opposed it is not the point; the point is that one or two companies spent more money to fight the new tax than was spent on the entire Wisconsin campaign and in both cases it was legal. Therefore, the only way to explain what happened with Obama’s jobs bills is simple. Big business bought the congress representatives. The shame of it all is that it is legal; congress representatives for sale to anyone with the money and big business executives have the money. Congress has a 9% approval rating but year after year the same people are returned to Washington because they are rewarded for being crooked. We need government but we need honest government.
As a result of big money, the Badgers voted the way billionaires told them to vote and as a result, they will lose their jobs, lose their pensions, lose their homes because they can not pay for them, prevent their children from going to college because the tuition is through the roof, etc, etc. Can we wait for them to find out what they did?
Let me put it to the Republicans this way; ♫ Bad boy, bad boy. What are you going to do when they come for you?♫ The bad boys are republican congress representatives and the voters are going to come for you, which they will do just like they did in Wisconsin and in California. I am being cynical but only because what is happening is so lubricious. Our democracy is in trouble and if that is the only way I can get you do something to stop Citizens United, I will do it. Pass it on.
