RAMADI FELL INTO EVIL HANDS, SO WHAT

Ramadi, Iraq fell to ISIS. The media fill hours of broadcasts with how evil ISIS is and has been for a long time. Ramadi is a city of 200,000 people at least that was the population in 1987. Since then there was a sectarian shift in population, so the number is uncertain. However, the point is that the media is leading us to believe a rag-tag group of murdering terrorists has taken control of a relatively huge city and 200,000 people are letting them “freely walk the streets”. There is no question; there is enough hard evidence to make us believe ISIS fighters are terrorists. I see a huge conflict in this. I remember the Fall of Saigon and all of South Vietnam to the terrible communist hoards. The media had bombarded us with how bad they were. General after general and politician after politician, such as John McCain, were telling us we had to do more. Spend more money, put more boots on the ground, and we could win if we did more. In case you do not remember, this went on for years. Things steadily deteriorated. It turned out the people of Vietnam were not fighting with us; they were fighting against us. A few people in their government were raking in millions of U.S. tax dollars. Our military-industrial complex told us we were fighting and dying for their freedom—it is what Americans do; it is the honorable thing to do. However, the people in Vietnam knew the government they had was so bad that anything was better. Does all of this sound familiar? Is this what is happening in Iraq? While it is true that religion is involved in Iraq, which make it more complicated, what is the real truth? URL: firetreepub.blogspot.com Comments Invited and not moderated
