SENATOR THUNE DISCRACES HIMSELF ON MORNING JOE

Senator John Thune was Joe Scarborough’s guest this morning on Morning Joe, (MSNBC). Usually, I tune into Morning Joe for a dose of right-wing poison; this morning I got more than asked.

This morning I listened carefully and did not hear this discredited politician make one fact-based statement—he and Karl Rove lying his way into office. Thune said the president is going around Congress; that is in our Constitution for good reason. Of course, he is going around Congress because it is a negotiation; can you imagine what it would be like to have 538 elected representatives negotiating with Iran?

Thune spewed out the Netanyahu rhetoric, almost word for word. Thune claimed we are making concession after concession to Iran, which is a remarkable statement if HE does not know what is in the deal. Face it; what he said is a boldfaced lie. To make matters worse, he names specifics, such as what they are going to do with the stockpiles of enriched uranium, and the duration of the breakout provisions in the negotiations. He did make one statement that was honest; no deal is a good deal, which is what Netanyahu said. No deal means that there would be no constraints on Iran in their efforts to build a bomb. Is that good logic? Isn’t that what we have now and didn’t Iran get to the point of almost having a bomb?

This evil Israeli Prime Minister wants us to destroy an evil Iran. Why? It’s called peck order. He wants to bed top chicken. He wants us to allow him to dominate the Middle East and especially Palestine so he can build illegal settlements, which he could not do if there were sovereign boundaries demarking Palestinian territory. Like many other senators, Thune is simply not capable of thinking for himself.

Scarborough pointed out a poll, without showing the results or explaining how the pollsters asked the question. He claimed the pool indicated the American people do not want a two-state solution—can you imagine they have any idea of what is involved. I found this strange because many polls indicate the American people think one way while GOP senator such as him vote exactly the other way on issue after issue.

At least we got a little laugh out of the interview. Thune said that Republican hope that Democrats cooperate to get things done in the Senate; OMG; can you imagine just one Republican who cooperated with Democrats in the Senate and survived his next election?
