GOP RELIGIOUS FREEDOM FRAUD

Liberals miss the point of the Religious Freedom Acts red states around the United States are passing. The objective is to make people falsely believe the population divides themselves into two well-defined groups, liberals who do not believe in God and Conservatives who do believe in God. We repeatedly hear we are a Christian Nation, one Nation under God, in God we trust, and we “all” believe in God. Obviously, if you believe that, then the vast majority of people who believe in God will vote for Conservative politicians. We all know religious should have nothing to do with politics; that is precisely what the Constitution says. Politics is about law and order, and about economics; liberals are for working people and conservatives are for corporations.

If you stop and think about this flood of laws, you will realize it makes no difference if the right-wing political pundits pass the laws or not. What makes the difference is this message, which their arguments sends. Of course, they also want to pass the laws and turn their hate into law but the main reason is vote getting. We all know their hate is not just limited to gay and LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender) people, but also includes anyone they think it should include under the guise of defending freedom of religion. Of course, the right to worship any God is a Constitutional right that has nothing to do with the right of corporations or even churches. It is wrong to force anyone to believe or act according to some religious belief one way or another. The tie to gay people is an important part of the law in as much as hate for gay marriage, abortion, race, other religions, etc. personalizes it and gives it an individualized emotional appeal.

Republican politicians will stand for Religious Freedom while forcefully saying they abhor prejudices or preconceived opinion of any kind; they can do this because they believe what they are saying. We just say every Republican presidential hopeful did that. What they are deceitful about is their thinking; they lie for purely political reasons. Of course, the major reason is that it works in favor of Conservatives, who used this to elect people who will destroy the middle class, which is just more of Karl Rove-style dirty politics. The people who they convince to vote for them because they believe in God are the ones they hurt the most; low wages, destruction of unions, voter suppression, underfunded public schools and universities, crooked loans and banks, fraudulent stock market, excessive corporate profits, etc. How about the feelings of the religious LGBT people Republicans throw on the garbage heap of society? In keeping with Ayn Rand brand of politics, they just do not count.
