ECONOMIC ELITE READY TO STRIKE

Something sinister is brewing in Republican presidential politics. Indications are that big money people or self-appointed economic elite are strategizing on how to pick “their” candidate. There reason for doing this is a bit complicated even if their objective is not. Obviously, the candidate they pick will not be one the grass roots conservatives would pick nor will they pick one primary voters would pick. In fact, they are doing what they are doing to avoid having a candidate who radical Republicans would choose; a Rand Paul or Ted Cruz, for example. What they are doing is the same stagey that they used when they picked George W. Bush; they bundled their donations huge donation into a mammoth sum rather then disperse and dilute them across a number of candidates who would waste the money fighting one another. They wanted to pick a dummy—a follower—and they pushed Jeb Bush, the obvious popular favorite, aside to pick a dummy. Jeb had his own agenda; immigration and education for example. We all remember when the oil industry celebrated George W’s victory; the party cake was adorned with a picture of the white house with the words “OURS” written across the image.

They were a little unhappy with Romney, the Bain venture capitalist with a mind of his own; apparently because he wanted to take over government assets and turn them into money for the Party, and of course, the economic elite. The neo-cons were content with Romney because they would have had control of foreign policy—every advisor he picked, had the people elected him, was a neo-con.  Chris Christie also has a mind of his own. Rand Paul is an ideologue with a dream of living like a hermit in downtown New York. By perusing the internet, I find 22 potential candidates. It is relatively easy to pick out those who have a standard conservative mindset thus would have a mind of their own and not be easy to manipulate. In addition, there are those who are not electable such as Michelle Bachman, Sarah Palin, Allan West, and Donald Trump. However, there are those who are one-issue candidates such as Rick Santorum who does not have a mind of his own but one they could package to sell to the American people.

My point, in case you missed it, is they—the economic elite—are preparing to choose the candidate to be the president of the United States and to hell with the American people. Take the time from your can of beer and your football game to look up the definition of ‘plutocracy’.
