CLINTONS DEVIOUSNESS IS A DOWNER

Yesterday I penned a blog post titled, “Why Obama in the Shadows?” He has been an outstanding president in every respect. His popularity should be skyrocketing, especially among liberals, but it isn’t. Last night, I heard a talking head, +Rachael Maddow, give an explanation that I had never suspected but perhaps should have. Republicans are attacking him externally but also party Democrats, specifically by the well-oiled +Clinton political machine, is attacking him internally. Admittedly, one should never take what a TV talking head like Maddow says without question. Nevertheless, she is not +Fox News that has an out and out problem with telling the truth. Rachael has a reputation for digging out hidden truths in complicated situations, especially those dealing with political intrigue such as this one.

First, we should ask why? Hillary Clinton is running for president. She is the consummate politician, and as such attacks any opponent on all fronts. What is notable is that she does not have an identified Republican opponent but knows any Republican opponent she might have will attack anything and everything Obama has done. All indications are that they will specifically attack his foreign policy, which is obviously going to be her strength because of her recent history as Secretary of State. In addition, she won her Senate seat in New York by being strongly, and blindly, Israeli friendly, while Obama recognizes the Israeli-Palestinian problem will require a two state solution, which Israeli prime mister Netanyahu opposes because it would shut down his land-grab strategy. In addition, Obama has taken an intellectual approach to the unrest in the Middle East, centered on Iraqi and Syria; he has said, “No boots on the ground”. In light of the horrific atrocities by ISIS bomb, bomb, conservatives oppose this but so do liberals oppose this approach because it is too complex to easily understand. Clearly, the Obama approach seems to be the only way to avoid remaking the tied old mistake of Vietnam; if the people do not want to fight for them selves, then we should not waste our blood and treasure to fight for them. This means that ISIS could win control of the area, which would be especially bad for Israel. Clinton’s political machine seems to have calculated that it is to their advantage to attack the Obama policy, believing this approach makes them immune from future attacks by Republicans for supporting Obama—they may be right.

There is a made up word in Spanish, ‘vantejista’ or advantage taker. The Clintons may be many things, but first among everything else, they are “vantejistas”, which is what the expression ‘consummate politician’ means. They will take advantage of every thing they can. Candidate Obama beat Hillary Clinton honestly in the primaries for the presidency, which she thought was hers for the asking—that hurt. In addition, Bill Clinton and Barrack Obama had a dust up over race in that primary as well, which Clinton lost for obvious reason. Obama while assembling his “team of rivals” included Hillary as Secretary of State; an office many believe is next to the president in influence. She did a good job while in that position.  However, she carefully positioned herself, with Bill’s help I am sure, to blame anything about foreign policy Republicans do not like, that is that went wrong during her tenure such as the Israeli negotiations already mentioned, she could rightfully claim that she was “only” following Obama’s policies.

Finally, the Clintons know that liberals like me, for example, will vote for Hillary, even as devious as she is being, against a Republican candidate under any circumstances.  Thus, Bill Clinton, and all of Hillary’s advisors, will continue to tout his (their) liberal credentials based on the success of his presidency as he has been doing over the past six-years. This is in contrast to Hillary, who will be fiercely claiming independency from her husband’s policies while at the same time relying on people giving her credit for being a faithful wife even during the most difficult times.  Politics is complicated but rest easy, Hillary is up to the task. She should know that I would vote for her if she is the final candidate but I will do everything, and I mean everything I can do, to support +Joe Biden or independent +Bernie Saunders or someone else up to that point. Read all of my blog posts and you will not find one-mention or indications in any of them of my support for her deviousness, as a politician, up to this point. That will likely not change.
