BANNING BURKAS IS WRONG TARGET

Rather than ban burkas we should ban the French—I am not saying we should kill them all but we should ban them at the airport before they get on the flights to the U.S.. As a uniformed sailor, French citizens mistreated me terribly Niece, France again in Cannes, France. Again, as an employee of the Atomic Energy Commission working in a laboratory on the east coast of the United States, at a dinner party a French-Swiss woman bitterly insulted me for being an American. As I motored with my family across Canada from the east coast to Minnesota, I was repeated insulted by French people in Quebec. The incidents happened in a Kentucky Fried Chick restaurant and in a name brand gasoline station. A third incident happened in a roadside soft drink vender. Never has a Muslim insulted me, as the French have done, for anything let alone for being an American. It is not just me. French General Charles de Gaulle called for Quibec session from Canada. I do know that in some quarters, Muslims do cry “death to America”, but I personally have never experienced openly expressed hate from Muslims in America or Canada nor has a Muslim called for a state or province to succeed from the Union.. All of this makes me think the right wing U.S. media is clearly on the wrong track—ban burkas, indeed. However, my position in this matter does create a little problem for me; my wife is French Canadian.
