Netanyahu and his controlling right wing Knesset continues to
wave the red flag of torment in the Middle East. THIS BEGS THE QUESTION, WHAT IS HIS END GAME. At the critical time of a
ceasefire in a bloody war, they claim more land, another 1,000 acres in the West
Bank. All this does is to continue to create more distrust for Israel and by
association, the Jewish people. It should not but it does; most Jewish people
are not Israeli fanatics. The world needs Israel, the Jewish people needs
Israel. What they do not need is more anti Semitism.

Some folks, including myself, struggle with the idea of
Israel’s objective—why do we have Israel. I naively supported the partition of Palestine
creating Israel with the idea that it would serve in much the same way as the Vatican
serves Catholic Church. The horrors of the Second World War made me and most
other people aware of the direr need for a homeland where Jews would be safe
from prosecution with out understanding the consequences of doing that. What we
see happening in the area is a result of that short sightedness.
In my past, I came to know a family who responded to a death
in that family by having a drink to quell their sadness. The same family celebrated
happy events, a wedding for example, by having a drink. When there was a boring
weekend, they put aside the boredom by having a drink. This is what I see in
Israel; they respond to everything the same way; they take more Palestinian
land. They celebrate their success as a country by taking more land. The lament
the firing of Palestinian rockets into Israel by taking more land. When everything
is peace full, it is time to take more land. Land acquisition is causing the
problem just as alcohol is causing the problem for the family I mentioned.
There is only one solution, which is a two state solution and
internally, Israel is going to have to stop immigration. The only way that will
happen is if the Israeli people will vote against the right wing radical
element; hence, they will get rid of Netanyahu. I don’t see that happening
anytime soon but I do think a two state solution is a step in that direction; that
move will result in the internationally recognized sovereignty of Palestinian land
making land acquisition by Israel a war crime the United nations would
recognize. In addition, it will allow Israel to dominate a specific region
politically, their country, thus insure no more pogroms by guaranteeing an Arab
minority; thus, they disguise their government as a democracy. Of course, Israel will have to give back all
the land the stole; do not hold your breath that that will happen even without
the radically controlled Knesset. We may
have dug ourselves into a hole so deep that we cannot climb out, which is exactly
what Netanyahu was aiming to do—1,000 acres at a time. Face it we have been
outsmarted. HOW DOES THAT FEEL?
