REPUBLICAN BESTIAL LOGIC

Charles Krauthammer has published a book, Things That Matter, which I am in the process of reading with a great deal of interest. Of course, #Krauthammer is the famous conservative journalist often heralded by other right wing radicals as an intellectual: the #Glenn Becks, the #Rush Limbaughs, the #Joe Scarboroughs, etc. What I am gaining from reading his collection of article is that he is what some refer to as an idiot savant, meaning he seems to have the reasoning power of a three year old, a political “Rain Man”, a reference to the 1988 movie about the relationship of an abusive and selfish yuppie to an autistic savant. Like all conservatives, he thinks of himself as a kind, compassionate, moral individual, echoing the #George W. Bush lie that got him elected, twice; “compassionate conservative”. Don’t conservatives realize what the words they are using mean? Don’t liberals realize they are lies?

I saw the following “words” posted by a conservative: “I believe in having good manners, respecting elders, and helping others when I can.” Let’s count the ways this is a conservative lie:

  1. Cut food stamps: hurt the poor.
  2. Cut unemployment benefits: hurts the unemployed.
  3. Repeal the Affordable care Act; hurts those who need health care.
  4. Block expansion of Medicare: hurt the old and sick.
  5. Repeal Social Security: prevents old age poverty.
  6. Repeal civil rights legislation; allows states to block voting.
  7. Refuse to collect taxes: hurts government function.
  8. Refuse in collect taxes: hurts university funding.
  9. Close the department of Education: hurt schoolchildren.
  10. Privatize public Schools: allows segregation, blocks teaching of science.
  11. Block consumer protection: so businesses can cheat customers.
  12. Refuse gun control measure: allows insane to buy guns.
  13. Block immigration reform: hurts immigrants.
  14. Close EPA: hurts the environment.
  15. Etc, etc, etc.

Conservatives are driven by bestial greed, we see that kind of greed in unschooled three-years old children; not adults. How many times do we liberals have to hear the Krauthammers and the Scarboroughs of the world say they are small government conservatives to know they do not have their heads in a well-lighted place. What conservatives say and what the do are two different things; are they lying to them selves or do the blame the devil for making them do what they do. Do they not understand why liberals look at them as being cruel and mean? Can they not understand, for example, that doing something about immigration for votes is not being kind to the immigrants: it is being kind to them selves? Do they not understand that without regulations society would be chaos?  Of course, when confronted with reality they concede that they need these things, but if you carefully review the 15 items listed above and many more you could add, you see one thing; there is never compromise—that is why we have Washington in a deadlock. How could anyone claiming to be an intellectual, such as Krauthammer, not understand this.

However, you know as well as I do that the “conservative movement” has two things going for them: collectively, we all want to be free of anyone telling us what to do. You also know that small government cost less so collectively we would not have to pay “more” taxes. Doesn’t everyone know that 7 billion people cannot live on planet earth without rules and regulations: we all want complete freedom but know that cannot be and know we have to have government and that cost money? When we eschew logic and yield to our bestial instincts, we become Republicans; that is a great thing for hermits but is not a good thing for society.
