STUDENT LOAN PROBLEM MISDIRECTED BLAME

A college graduate complained that after paying on a $7,000 student loan for several years, she now owns more that $7,000. What was shocking was that’s she blamed #Obama. This is incredible when one actually looks at the President’s record on student loans from before he became president. You do no have to believe campaign rhetoric but can believe the facts; search the internet looking at every budget he has submitted to Congress, follow the record of what he has been advocating over his entire presidency. He is an unequivocal champion of affordable education. Unfortunately, financial institutions have corrupted the legislative side of our government.

I know there are people out there who like to say both Democrats and Republicans, are corrupted. That is true in only far as you can find a Democrat who has been bought and paid for by financial lobby but it is also true that you can find a Republican who has not been bought. However, the reason for the difference is obvious; Republicans don’t have to be bought; they believe in a free market and all that 19th century Adam Smith invisible hand economic nonsense; economic policy that fit villages so well does not apply to our price fixing modern economy. Republicans believe students and their parents will not borrow money to go to school if the interest rate is too high even if they industrialist constantly them that they need an education to find a job. Of course, a rich parent does not need to borrow money, so none of this applies to them; what matters is they make money from their savings and loan companies and banks; they will do anything it takes to maximize their profits and that is why poor families and students have such debt. The irony is that an MBA degree is designed to teach then how to do that. It is as I read this morning about China where the rich are moving out of the country because of the pollution their factories made. The environmental devastation, like the economic devastation they caused does not apply to them.

The most shocking aspect of the student’s complaint about her student loan is to understand why she blames Obama. The right wing media—the only thing she ever reads or hears—has told her it is Obama’s fault. #Karl Rove has learned to attach an opponent’s strength. He does this because it works and it works because people will not take the time to evaluate what they hear. All it takes is a few punched keys on a computer, but event that is too much. If a rich person wants to corrupt the nation, he buys into the media. As with borrowing money, or moving out of a polluted China, he does not believe his own lies because they are the ones doing the lying, they are the ones doing the corruption.

Like the young college graduate blaming Obama, there is segment of the population, the Duck Dynasty, Fox News, Bob Livingston News Letter followers, who are not rich but think like rich people want them to think; what does this tell you about the educations she receive in college?
