The other day
Chris Hays, MSNBC host, had a segment on his program in which eh asked who was
the worst President if the United States. He and his guests came up with a list
of three names as top candidates: Andrew Jackson, Andrew Johnson, and George W.
Bush. I found it strange that the group did not even mention Ronald Reagan’s
name. Yes, Jackson could be a miserable mean man, Johnson was a racist of the
worst kind, and Bush was an idiot but there is someone with a much worse
legacy.

As was recently
written by “attyttood” writing for KOS, Ronald
Reagan, “unleashed the dogs of American greed”. We are still paying for that
mistake 34 years later. Look what started in 1980, the year of his election:
income inequity, the crushing of air traffic controllers, deregulation of
savings and loan industry and his laizzez-faire attitude toward Wall Street. It
will be difficult if not impossible to kennel
up that “innate” dog—human greed feeds on its self.
It has consumed
26 states governments and bribed its way into control of both our House of
Representatives, and Supreme Court. It has consumed a major portion of one political
party. It is in the final stages of
consuming our media. It has taken over our colleges and turned them into
research institutes. There is hardly an industry left that greed has not fully consumed.
They are in the process of devouring our public school system. Mega churches
are manifestations of greed.
