GUNS FLOATING FREE

We can never be perfect but gun violence will only increase with the more guns we have in society. Gun registration is only a cover up for the deeper-rooted problem; people somehow feel they can defy authority and verify their individuality by owning a gun, which constitutes the most dangerous group of people. Change the wording of this statement a little will help explain what I mean. People who do not have a demonstrable need for a gun should not have a gun. Hunters, target shooters, self-protection are all legitimates needs. Owning a gun because you can is not! By the way, to protect myself from the government in our society is not a legitimate need.

Guns in the hands of people that have no use for them create a dangerous situation. Passing a background check will not detect these people. If there is no need for owning a gun then that gun is floating free; a gun floating free in society is a devils workshop. These are the guns owe find in people pockets in bars and in unattended dresser drawers or closet selves, in boxes in the garage or attic, and in glove boxes in cars. These guns are the ones we find in the hands of people when they decide they do not want to live anymore or in a domestic dispute or in a fight over a fence. If one person asks another person, in a challenging way, “Why do you want a gun?” and their only answer is because they have a right to own a gun then they should not have a gun.
