There is something about the Affordable Care Act—Obamacare—that
Republicans have overlooked. The American people want it and I believe they
will vote that way! A few of the more astute members of that party have publically
acknowledged that in one way or another but they usually couched the thought in
a tangential way, as if they do not want to be quoted. They say things such as, “once we have it we
will never be able to get rid of it”. They
know it is a socially beneficial program like Social Security or Medicare and
Medicaid and is wildly popular but also is something they want as well.
Have you ever heard one of them specifically say why they
oppose Obamacare? They talk about it and the other programs as socialism and
they are quick to say they hate socialism, which begs the question of why do
they hate socialism when they are buried in it. The government of the United
States of America is a modal of social-capitalism. Our founding father wrote it
into the Constitution; thus, the structure of our government reflects our
socialism. The very idea of one-man one-vote is socialistic. Public schools,
public highways, and public services are socialistic. Socialism is pervasive because the people want it to be. They want
Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, and now Obamacare.
A few people who are so rich they think can buy anything
they need, health care, for example, are leading the modern Republican Party to
ruin. They have had some successes. For example, the people subjected Scott
Walker, Governor of Wisconsin, to a recall election. He was clearly guilty of a
number of crimes against the rights of the worker’s his state as well as
corruption of government; however, he was not recalled because huge sums of
Koch brother’s money shifted the narrative and convinced the people that “to
recall a politician was bad policy”. Do advertisements work? Of course they do.
These rich brothers sold Scott Walker to the voters just as a company sells laundry
detergent. Now they are trying to do the same with Obamacare; they are “selling
groundless hate” for Obamacare by financing political candidates to campaign on
that issue. I think they are making a huge mistake. The people want the
Affordable Care Act and Democrats and independent voters should vote accordingly;
I estimate that 80% of the people want Obamacare. If this makes you, Cuban Canadian Ted Cruz, and Space Alien Rand Paul unhappy
for reasons you cannot explain, so be it.
I want the Affordable
Care Act. I want everyone to have health insurance. I want hospitals to be
force to treat a person, who shows up and needs care to get care just as they
do now, only under the Affordable Care Act they will have insurance. Even the
conservative motorcycle rider the government forced to buy insurance, who ran
his head into a curb without a helmet; it is his right “not to wear a helmet” but
it is also his right to receive emergency medical care only now he will have to
pay for it and not leave it up to the taxpayers.
