SHAME ON LAWRENCE O'DONNELL

The most disgusting display of bullying I have seen in along time took place last night on the +Lawrence O’Donnell’s show (MSNBC). I listen to O’Donnell with mixed emotions. Sometimes he is brilliant but then there are other times like last night. He was a writer for a popular TV show; thus, is capable of expressing himself better than most of us. In addition, his years as a Washington D.C. staffer armed him well to understand hence attack legislation, especially tax legislation. He was the person who discovered the flaw in the IRS laws that allowed +Karl Rove to corrupt the system for political organizations to avoid paying taxes. What he found was that someone in 1959, that would be the Eisenhower administration, changed the word in the law related to tax exempt status for social and educational organizations from ‘exclusively’ to ‘primarily’ therefore opened the flood gates to corruption by devious operators.  I was impressed years ago when he made what was for me a profound statement, which was, “The purpose of life is to live a life of purpose.”

Yes, what he did last night surprised me but the way he did it shocked me. His guest was Anthony Wiener, candidate for Mayor of New York City. Mr. Wiener sent revealing pictures of him self to females, lied about doing it then sent more pictures after he pledged not to do that. This is not acceptable activity. Even by modern standards, there is definitely something wrong with his personality just as there is something wrong with Lady Gaga or other exhibitionist. The internet is full of dirty talk and pornography; that does not make what Anthony Wiener did acceptable or right in any way.  Nevertheless, for O’Donnell to use his nationally aired TV show to bully him is wrong. His performance was disgraceful. O’Donnell clearly designed his questions to harass Mr. Wiener. Just like schoolchildren “tease to suicide” other children who act or look different in some way. Rich kid Mitt Romney and friends cut the hair of a poor kind.  A large number of children have committed suicide because of the way they were born. Idiots bully crippled children, poor children, nerds, and gay children but Lawrence O’Donnell? Such behavior should be above someone with your background and knowedge.  Anthony Wiener should never be mayor of New York; he should never be publically humiliated—bullied—because of his mental aberrations. Shame on you Lawrence.
