I saw the name “American for Prosperity” on a negative ad
related to Obamacare. Seeing that name used against it, is a sure indication,
it is good.
It is sometimes difficult for Americans to understand why
most “rich” people are against health care for everyone: Art Pope, Koch
Brothers, Walton family, etc. There seems to be no rational down side to the
argument. People have to buy insurance and by buying insurance under this
program, the cost will be much lower. That is the basic premise of insurance,
if everyone pays the cost is lowest but the money is there for catastrophic situations.
This is no empty theory; it is a well-known fact. There is only one group with
what at first appears to be legitimate opposition, which is the young healthy
person, who does not want to buy insurance. However, we can divide this group
is into two parts, those that cannot afford any insurance and those who can afford
it but do not want to spend the money on something they perceive they do not
need. The legislation provides for both in the sense that the cost of health insurance
will be lowest if everyone buys it and those who cannot afford it will have a
subsidy.
Obamacare is pro big business, really a compromise between Republican
and Democratic principles. Affordable health Care Program is helping insurance companies because it
increases the number of people who are insured. Therefore, big business should
be elated about the program. Hospitals are
big business, and they will not have to provide care to as many uninsured
people as the law now dictates, thus they will save money but also the reimbursement
costs government will be less. As far as health care professionals are
concerned, the insurance companies will guarantee they will be paid for their services,
because that is at the heart of third party payer systems.
The only reason I can figure they oppose Obamacare is that
it is something the will benefit the people, which sounds weird as a reason to
object to the program, not only weird, but also insane. Why would anyone, rich or not, object to something that helps others? As
a person interested in evolutionary psychology, I look at this and say Republicans
ground their hate for the program in one thing and one thing only, which is their
inborn greed for power over poor people. The seed of Republicanism, no matter
where you find it, seems to be a bestial or innate level of selfishness. Obamacare
is altruistic. Selfish people like Art People and the Koch brothers cannot dominate
society if the people are taking care of each other, which is what altruism is—which
is what Obamacare is; the government doing something for people that they cannot
do for themselves. It is a compromise that helps big business as well, but even
that is not enough for them. Dirt balls like Karl Rove and other operatives who
cry “nanny government” are doing so because they have found a way to use their
greed or Republicanism, to line their own pockets with money swindled from the
rich. People in general discussions do not talk about power an only talk about
money, but money represents power. I am convinced that what they really want is
to have the American people cowering in the equivalent of slave quarters—slave
quarters they built and own. What they cannot seem to understand is why
Democrats should be unhappy living like that—with them taking care of us.
