WILL McCAIN SUCKER PUNCH HAGEL?

Watch out, McCain is getting ready to throw a sucker punch at Hagel. Obama’s nomination of Chuck Hagel as Secretary of Defense is coming up for “consent by Senate” in a few days. After a long series of nasty attacks by McNasty himself, he is saying the Senate will approve Hagel. So too, his child-like follower, Lindsey Graham, says Hagel will be approved. Both say they will not vote for him, nonetheless, enough other Senators will approve him. McNasty is protecting his failed past of repeated poor judgments. Graham is so worried about a Tea Party challenge in his home state of South Carolina; he was willing to make up ridiculous charges against Hagel and asking him to produce documents illegally. I won't even mention Ted Cruz.

Is McCain capable of doing this? I think he is. He publically announced he opposed Hagel’s nomination because the nominee was critical of George W. Bush and said the military surge in Iraq was a failure etc. McCain vigorously supported these things. To suggest anything good about Hagel, such as believing he will be confirmed, would be tantamount to admitting he had been wrong about Iraq, Bush, and the surge. When later asked if he said these things, he said “ridiculous”. Then, in the same interview, he made the positive statement that the Senate would confirm Hagel. Many years ago, I read a book “Rainbow on the Road”; an outlaw of ballad stature fulfilled the songs promise and dramatically removed the heart of the evil sheriff, which immediately plunged the hero into infamy. McCain, your disgrace awaits you. I have no idea if the senate will confirm Hagel or not but I am convinced McCain will try something.
