Dan Senor made a fool of himself on Morning Joe (MSNBC). Most Jewish Americans support Israel but put this country first. I think Senor put Israel first. He was challenging others to answer his question about Hagel statement that dealt with how the Israeli government treats the Palestinian people. People would not fall into his trap so he could accuse them of supporting terrorists. In his mind, Palestinians are terrorist—period. However, as former President Jimmy Carter has so poignantly pointed out Israel has created an apartheid society-Israelis dominating Palestinians. I use the analogy of keeping a dog on a leash and poking it with a sharp stick. When the dog fights back, shorten the leash; travel restriction, coastal blockade, taking Palestinian land to build Jewish housing, expanding their population to outnumber Palestinians, and a long string of etceteras.
Hagel represents Obama’s position, which seems to be that peace will only come to the Middle East when the entire world treats all people equally and fairly. Obama is not what Dan Senor wants. He wants an America that will support everything Israel the radical right wing controlled Knesset wants to include total subjugation of the Palestine people. He works in a way that suggest he is a Zionist American and not loyal to America.
What is scary is that he was top foreign policy advisor to Romney in this last campaign.
To judge the farness of Obama, one should closely track what happens with American foreign policy concerning the recent bombing by Israel on the Syria-Lebanese boarder to destroy rockets that Lebanon could and would be use against Israel. The United Stares will support Israel’s right to defend itself. The U.S. will defend Israel for retaliation from the 20 Arab nations—but will not join Israel in invading a neighboring country or support Israel in building more Jewish home on Palestinian land. The U.S. will aid Egypt in breaking the Israel blockade of Gaza. Dan Senor, I have news for you, this is all consistent with promoting peace in the Middle East through negotiations and not giving U.S. blessing to radical Zionist dreams of total strong-arm domination of Palestinian people but also on a more ambitious level, the entire Middle East. Kerry’s appointment, Hagel’s nomination, as well as John Brennan’s nomination to head the CIA will unquestionably be consistent with the Obama long-term policy goals. Macho Dan, change your ways, get down off your Marlborough horse, and put American interests first.
