How many times to we have to say it; you are responsible for what you are and what you do. One of the reasons it is so often difficult to indentify those responsible for all of this craziness is because they hide. I am not talking just about some guy on the street; I am talking about people in high office; a single senator can anomalously demand a supermajority vote to prevent confirmation of presidential nominees, for example. People have all sorts of excuses for not admitting to what they truly believe or represent. It would be an invasion of their privacy, others do it so why shouldn’t I, my constituents believe it so I must even though I really do not believe that way, I am only one of thousands that voted for him or her, are examples of avoiding responsibility for what they as individuals have done.
My message to them is this: you can hide behind feigned ignorance but someday you have to accept responsibility for what you have done. Did you know there are 31 pro gun senators in the Senate? Even if you knew that, I will bet money that you would not be able to name a single one of them. Does it not strike you as strange that you can look at what states they represent and what party they affiliate with and pretty much identify them that way. This means “shunning of responsibility” is institutionalized in political parties. The result is a series of horrific events; you, as a voter to some degree, are responsible. If being a voter is too non-specific then narrow the focus of responsibility for killing people to being a National Rifle Association member.
